We asked Ron a few questions about what it's like to work at Amphenol Network Solutions and got our mouths watering with a North Carolina BBQ recommendation!
How long have you worked at Amphenol Network Solutions and how does your role fit into the organization?
I have been working at Amphenol Network Solutions (and All Systems Broadband before that) for 6 years. Currently, I am in the Product Management group as the Senior Product Manager for the Passive product line. The product manager role is a really dynamic position that, in the leading of our product line, provides the opportunity to interface with customers as well as all departments within the organization.
What three words would you use to describe our culture?
Innovative, Collaborative, and Customer-Focused!
What is your proudest moment at Amphenol Network Solutions?
Being part of the phenomenal sales growth that we experienced last year!
How has Amphenol Network Solutions helped you in your career development?
I have been in the fiber optic communications industry for 30 years and have had the opportunity to work for several different companies over that time. One of the great things about Amphenol is the corporate culture which I find to be very inspiring. Amphenol is a large, strong, and well-established leader in our industry, but within that structure, our company Amphenol Network Solutions is allowed and encouraged to operate as a nimble start-up. This creates a fun, fast-paced environment. Our employees are empowered to lead their areas of responsibility and make a real impact on our success. I have found this to be a fantastic environment for not only professional growth but for a sense of accomplishment and job satisfaction.
What advice do you have for prospective candidates?
Always be open to grow and learn from those around you. Maintain positivity as you lead and drive your tasks to completion. Make sure you understand how your role/contribution fits into the larger company objectives.
What is your hometown and what activity, restaurant, or landmark would you suggest to someone visiting?
I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. One of the things that North Carolina is well known for is our pork barbeque with a vinegar-based sauce. I would suggest eating at The Pitt so you can experience great pork BBQ in addition to country style vegetables and, of course, hushpuppies.
