It’s the moment Michael, a North Carolina native, has been waiting for all season. The University of North Carolina Tar Heels look to redeem themselves after last year’s stunning buzzer-beater lost to Villanova in the 2016 NCAA Tournament championship game.
On Friday, March 17, UNC begins what Michael hopes is a path to another deep run in the March Madness Tournament.
He can’t wait.
Meet Michael Crook, the newly promoted Regional Sales VP for Telect on the West Coast.
He’s been with Telect for about two-and-a-half years, covering the territory for California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Colorado. As a VP, Michael will now be responsible for overseeing some of our regional sales staff and helping the Telect management team continue to develop customer-driven solutions.
After graduating from Appalachian State University, Michael was introduced to the telecom industry in 1995 when he began working for Walker Associates, a distribution partner for Telect. There, he quickly became familiar with the Telect portfolio of fiber and power products.
In fact, Michael distinctly remembers that one of the companies he had the opportunity of first working with at Walker was Telect. After working for several other companies in the telecom and wireless industries, Michael finally found his way to Telect in 2014.
Michael enjoys working for Telect because of the people. He enjoys working with a group of people that truly cares for customers and each other.
He admires the Telect vision of becoming the leader in network infrastructure and its devotion to responding to customer challenges, building a reputation among communications service providers for delivering solutions tailored to their needs.
Telect has a wide portfolio of fiber management, power enclosures and racks, but Michael’s favorite product line is nrgSMART. Telect set an industry-first when it introduced the nrgSMART family of circuit-level monitoring systems for DC power distribution.
Although it may be currently ahead of the market, he believes nrgSMART is the “solution looking for a problem.” Our nrgSMART solution offers insight on your network, letting you identify power issues before they become outages.
nrgSMART offers the deepest analysis of power and circuit monitoring in the industry and, with a projection of over 200 billion Internet of Things devices by the year 2020, Michael sees a demand in the near future for the nrgSMART product line to help improve networks’ understanding of their power use.
Michael currently resides in Emeryville, CA, a short drive north from Oakland. In his spare time, Michael enjoys cycling, hiking, cooking and playing golf.
