[November 11, 2021] Maximize Space, Enhance Access and Effectively Manage Long-Term Scalability
Now you have more flexibility, more options, and more solutions for long-term, ultra-high-density fiber optic connectivity and management—all with the HyperX optical distribution frame.
With recent additions to the dynamic HyperX product line, Amphenol Network Solutions (Amphenol-NS) now provides more options to help meet specific demands in data center, mobile switching center, main distribution area, central office, and other high-circuit-count access-layer applications.
HyperX Back-to-Back 30 x 48 Configuration
Stemming from a specific customer request for an “end of row” solution, the Amphenol-NS product development team recently created a 6,000-plus termination, back-to-back frame system in a 30-inch-wide by 48-inch-deep footprint.
“The application included routing multifiber patch cables to the rear of the frames, and patching from the front to equipment in the row,” said Amphenol-NS Product Manager Kristin Erickson. “But this solution could be used anywhere there is a need for fiber distribution.”
Specifically, the configured platform includes a 22-inch frame with an 8-inch cable manager (30 inches of width total). Placing two of these configurations back-to-back—with spacing between the two for access—creates a 48-inch-deep footprint. Ultra-high density, termination access on both sides, and advanced cable management all made HyperX ideal for the end-of-row application.
HyperX 8-Inch Cable Managers
A key component of the back-to-back configuration is the new HyperX 8-inch cable managers.
Not only are these a good fit for the back-to-back end-of-row solution, they also can be utilized in any high-density application that does not require storage of slack fiber cable. The narrower cable managers save five inches of floor space while still providing more than ample fiber routing capabilities.
When space is at a premium, a 22-inch frame (19-inch mounting) with 8-inch cable managers helps users make the most of it. In applications that require slack fiber storage, however, we recommend the original 13-inch-wide cable managers.
HyperX: The Long-Term ODF Solution for Managing Fiber
HyperX provides industry-leading manageability and adaptability in an ODF platform, with up to 3,456 terminations in a standard footprint. A modular, scalable design and advanced routing/slack storage capabilities help make HyperX the most user-friendly, cost-effective ODF on the market.
A truly modular solution, HyperX incorporates an open architecture that enables users to scale the network as needed. Amphenol-NS C2 Advanced Optical Modules (AOMs) in C2E or C2X chassis provide simple access to terminations, expandability to meet changing circuit count requirements, and safe, secure cable management.
