Taking the complex and making it simple. That’s the goal of the Amphenol Network Solutions Custom Configured Solutions (CCS) applications engineering team.
The CCS team provides configured and bundled solutions for central offices, data centers, switch locations, small cells—virtually any network application. These can include equipment racks or cabinets, power distribution, fiber optic connectivity, cable management and more, configured to the specific requirements of the application and delivered as a single, easy-to-install solution.
How it Works
“A typical CCS solution starts with a customer inquiry,” said Brad Hawkins, applications engineer. “From there, we work directly with customers to understand the complete application, which helps us validate recommended products.”
Users receive a single solution, outlined in line drawings and a detailed bill of materials, and specified as a single product (with a customer-focused part number) for simple ordering and standardization. This makes future installations a simple matter of re-ordering the standardized comprehensive part.
Solutions range from fully configured high-density optical distribution frames to simple equipment racks with power distribution, cable management, patch panels, and space for growth—whatever fits the situation best.
A Sample Solution
As an example, a recent service provider project included the need for high-density data center fiber optic distribution.
Rather than ordering individual panels, cable managers, equipment racks, and patch cords separately, the CCS team worked directly with the customer to pre-configure an integrated optical distribution frame system, with ongoing communication ensuring the project met the customer’s requirements.
